First PTO Meeting

Next meeting: October 7th at 6:30pm 

We had a wonderful turn out for the 1st meeting of the year. It was wonderful to meet all you new members (and returning members)! I hope you feel welcome to share your ideas and know that we appreciate each and every one of you. Looking forward to a great year! 

Look for us on Facebook! Our page is called Jim Darcy PTO (beware of old abandoned Jim Darcy School pages.....) ours has a tie-dyed mustang in the profile picture! 

Parent council: September 10th at noon in the library or the new computer room (purchased with the funds raised from last year's spring raffle!) 
        Lunch will be provided 
        Mr. Cummings will discuss the state of the school, bond issues, etc. 

Announcements: 

• Mondays are early release for the district this year. Kids are out at 2:30pm on Mondays. Please don't forget your kiddo(s)!

• Picture day has been moved to Monday, September 15th. We have volunteers lined up for that day. Thank you!
• Open House - Tuesday, September 16th from 5:30 - 6:30pm

        PTO will have a table to answer questions and distribute information about our organization. We will be selling Jim Darcy T Shirts and giving away a treat! 

• Halloween Carnival - we have a subcommittee working on planning the Halloween Carnival. Please contact Jen Roberts (457-2142) if you are interested in helping out with planning this!

Fund-raisers on Tap for the year:

• Helena Education Foundation Carnival - Sunday, September 21st at Memorial Park 11am-4pm

        We will do balloon animals again this year. They were a big hit last year! Let me know if you want to volunteer.....it is easier than you think and who can't use a new trick for parties? : )

• Square 1 Art

        This will be in the fall this year so families can purchase gifts in time for Christmas. 
        Volunteers will be needed to help out in the classrooms with the art work. We will ask for volunteers when we determine how many are needed and what day they are needed.....stay tuned

• Raffle

        Our Spring Raffle is a SMASHING success so we will continue with it again this year. Parent's love not having to deliver food items and what is easier than selling raffle tickets for great prizes?

• Box tops and soup labels

• Target Gives

        Target Debit cards save you money every time you shop at Target and it earns cash for our school. We will get the information for those that are interested........ 

        
Dine out for Jim Darcy: 

• October 8th - MacKenzie River (all day)
• December 11th - Taco Johns (from 5pm-7pm)
• March 18th - MacKenzie River (all day)
• Stay tuned for dates at other restaurants around town! And as always, we will send home the flyers before the event. Don't forget your flyers to let them know you are with Jim Darcy!
